Josephine Cox is making her first appearance with Merlyn Productions.
To combat “post-thesis blues” after finishing her Master of Education, Josephine was introduced to British-style Pantomime with Stage on the Run in Ankara, Turkey, where she played Princess Martini in “Aladdin” and the Wicked Stepmother in “Cinderella”, both by Stuart Arden.
After fifteen years abroad, Josephine settled in Toronto for a year. There, she played Madame Smith, the brothel Madame, in the French language play “Quelque Part dans les Collines Noires” by Gilles Gillaud. She also had the opportunity to work with Loretta Chen and Jennifer Phillips of 360 Productions in “The Vagina Monologues” for International Women's Day at the University of Toronto.
In 2012, Josephine returned to her home town of Winnipeg to be close to family, and has been developing her skills at the PTE Theatre & Film School while adjusting to a career shift from teaching adult EAL to secondary French Immersion.
In her free time she enjoys wilderness pursuits, thrifting and up-cycling, singing with Winnipeg's pop-up Midnight Choir, and most recently, renovating her 1977 Boler camper trailer.
